Subject: Loss of data

Tom,

Not sure what I did but all of my trajectory planning data disappeared in 431 and the layout of the CNC Kmotion main screen changed.  The axis position data is now laid out horizontally across the top of the screen, the init button disappeared and most importantly all my setup data is gone.

I loaded 432 and the layout corrected but my setup data is no where to be found.  Is there a way to recover or do I have to go back and redo the steps, max vel., etc.?

Sounds like you lost the configuration files in the Data folder. Did your computer loose power without being properly shut down?  You will need to restore the files from a backup or re-enter the settings.

    Tom,

I think your right.  I’m using a laptop with a questionable battery.  I usually leave it plugged in but the other day I needed the cord for something else.  By the time I remembered to plug it back in the battery was dead.  The config files are still there but the numbers in the file changed.  The counts/inch went from 1603 to 100 on all 3 axis, strange.

A backup file…..what a novel idea.  Think I’ll try that approach this time around.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    Jack
